One generation shall commend Your works to another, and shall declare Your mighty acts. Psalm 145:4
Since Mother’s Day is approaching, I thought it would be a wonderful time to express my gratitude for my mom and mother-in-law. I’m so thankful for their love, prayers, and influence in my life and my family’s.
And since this blog focuses on grandmothering, it’s also a good time to mention one thing, among many, that they’ve both done exceptionally well as grandmothers.
Both women are believers and love the Lord. They taught their children about God and have continued following Christ. Through the decades, they have experienced great joys and deep heartaches. And still today, they both praise God often, commending His works, and declaring His mighty acts, as the Psalm above says.
Since their grandchildren were babies, they have heard countless stories and testimony from their grandmothers about God’s salvation, faithfulness, and power. They point out God’s glory in the expanse of creation, and His kindness in the details of their lives.
Now that my mom and mother-in-law are great-grandmothers, they continue to bless our family as they “Praise Him for His mighty deeds” and “praise Him according to his excellent greatness,” as it says in Psalm 150:2, to the newest members of our family.
I thank the Lord for these special grandmothers!
